The Opportunity:
Working within and leading a multi-disciplinary team, a proven performer within the Exploitation discipline is required. The successful incumbent will have 4 or more years of industry experience you will manage and find opportunities within our clients Northern Alberta district.
Based in Calgary, your strong technical skill-set and aptitude coupled with a passion for learning make you a great fit for this role. This exciting full-time, permanent position reports to the Manager, Northern Engineering.
With 4or more years of WCSB experience you will have excellent communication/interpersonal skill, a strong technical skill-set, will be self-motivated, team-oriented and possessing previous tight oil experience.
Duties will include:
Conducting economic evaluations in support of exploitation activities and acquisitions. You will provide reservoir/exploitation guidance to the team on development and exploration opportunities. Take a proactive approach to exploitation opportunities to build success in the immediate short term and for the future. Maintain effective communication within a multidisciplinary team of Land, Operations, Engineering, Geology and other support staff. Work with Geology, Geophysics, Operations and Land to coordinate team’s budget activities. Review and guide 3rd party reserve evaluations. Work in conjunction with Business Development on corporate evaluations. Prepare and track various government applications. Compile progress reports on various high-profile projects.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidates will have at 4+ years of Western Canadian oil and gas experience with a technical (reservoir / development) and commercial focus. Engineering degree required. Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills are essential. Must be able to balance multiple priorities and be comfortable working with ambiguity.
Well-rounded exploitation experience, including but not limited to: Experience working within multidisciplinary teams; with experience coordinating the efforts of the team Creative project design and management skills and experience Fundamental reservoir engineering skills Waterflood surveillance and optimization Pressure Transient Analysis (Welltest) Reserve assessment and analysis experience Production forecasting Economics Log evaluations and interpretation A&D evaluation experience Good business aptitude and acumen Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) required Strong computer skills with experience in the following programs are an asset: AccuMap (or GeoScout), PEEP, ValueNavigator, Oilfield Manager, WellTest, RTA, PW Outlook and Microsoft Office.
